The soft inner bark of the slippery elm tree soothes and coats the intestinal tract to form a protective, anti-inflammatory and healing layer.
The powder is mixed with warm water and taken as a drink and can be used to soothe digestive conditions, hiatus hernias & gastritis.
Slippery Elm may also be used as a poultice by mixing with a few drops of water. Poultices can be used topically to draw poison from bites or wounds or to relieve irritated skin.
